Definitie
Infantiele bilaterale striatale necrose (IBSN) omvat verschillende syndromen van bilaterale symmetrische spongiforme degeneratie van nucleus caudatus, putamen en globus pallidus, gekenmerkt door ontwikkelingsregressie, choreoathetose en dystonie met progressie naar spastische quadriparese. IBSN kan familiaal of sporadisch optreden.
