Definition

A rare fast-flow vascular anomaly characterized by direct extracranial artery-to-vein communication without an intervening nidus. The majority of the cases are asymptomatic. When present, the symptoms may include fatigue, dyspnea, palpitations, congestive heart failure, and pulmonary hypertension.
